    Maomao - The Apothecary Diaries

Who Is She?: After being kidnapped by bandits and sold to the Imperial Palace, Maomao found herself working as a poison tester. Her training as an apothecary and her enthusiasm about all things poison make her perfect for the job. Why Fans Love Her: Maomao is whip smart and weird as hell. She gets as hyped up about bezoars as most people would about winning the lottery. She can make connections that no one else can, which helps her solve a ton of problems around the palace. She's resilient too - most people wouldn't handle being kidnapped nearly as well as she did.

Alina Clover - I May Be A Guild Receptionist, But I'll Solo Any Boss To Clock Out On Time

Who Is She?: Alina Clover is an adventurers' guild receptionist. She took the job because she was hoping for a stress-free gig…but her job is almost impossible. To speed things along so that she can actually leave work on time, she puts on a disguise and tracks down the bosses herself, earning the nickname “The Executioner.” Why Fans Love Her: Have you ever worked a job that piled on way more work than you could handle? If you, chances are high that you find Alina extremely relatable. The contrast between her office job and her executioner identity is hilarious, and she looks cute doing both things.

Miyo Saimori - My Happy Marriage Season 2

Who Is She?: Miyo Saimori was once a servant in her own home - her stepmother and stepsister treated her like garbage because she lacked supernatural powers. They forced her to marry a man who was supposedly cruel, but who turned out to be extremely kind and caring. Through her unexpectedly happy marriage, she learns to prioritize her own needs, and is able to develop abilities she once thought were beyond her. Why Fans Love Her: Miyo is a total sweetheart who only deserves good things. That's why it's so satisfying to watch her go from being mistreated to being given the love and care she deserves. It's even more satisfying to watch her realize that she deserves to be treated well.

Takao Ameku - Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective

Who Is She?: Take L from Death Note, make him a doctor and a woman, and you have Dr. Takao Ameku. She's a socially inept but brilliant director of investigative pathology at Tenikai General Hospital. Her job is to solve medical problems that others can't, but if there's any sort of medical component to local police cases, she's also more than happy to investigate crime. Why Fans Love Her: Eccentric geniuses are always a lot of fun. She can figure things out that nobody else can. But one thing that makes her stand out is that she has clear vulnerabilities. She's dependent on her assistant, and she tears herself to pieces when she can't save a patient or make sense of their suffering. Things that are implicit in other eccentric genius characters are explicit in her.

Karane Inda - The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You S2

Who Is She?: Karane Inda is one of Rentarou Aijou's first two soulmates. She's known for being a major tsundere - she blushes until she's practically steaming whenever she encounters any sort of romantic situation. Why Fans Love Her: If you're a fan of the tsundere archetype, you probably like Karane because she fits it perfectly. But even if you dislike the archetype, she might still be appealing. That's because she doesn't take her tsundere-ness nearly as far as she could. Aside from a few moments that are clearly played for laughs, she isn't particularly violent, and she has a lot of sweet moments, too.

    Nene Yashiro - Toilet-bound Hanako-kun Season 2

Who Is She?: Nene Yashiro is high school student who helps a toilet-haunting spirit Hanako deal with supernatural problems at her she school. She's obsessed with all things romance, which is how she got mixed up with Hanako to begin with. She wished for a boyfriend, but she ended up getting cursed instead. Hanako helped her in exchange for her assistance. Why Fans Love Her: Throughout the series, Nene grows a lot. At first, she's mostly focused on her desire for romance, but she starts taking her work with Hanako quite seriously. She works hard to make sense of the mysteries she's presented with, and to do the right thing be everyone even when it's hard.

Uka Ishimori - Honey Lemon Soda

Who Is She?: Uka Ishimori is a high school student who is trying her best to build a social life. This is easier said than done - she's naturally extremely shy, and she's traumatized from middle school bullying. Luckily for her, Kai Miura takes an interest in her, and pushes her towards standing up for herself. Why Fans Love Her: If you've ever experienced bullying or social anxiety, Uka is a highly relatable character. It's satisfying to watch her come out of her shell. While she isn't as well developed as, say, Sawako Kuronuma from Kimi ni Todoke, she's a similar character. Also she has amazing eyes.

    Natsuko Hirose - Zenshuu.

Who Is She?: Natsuko Hirose is a celebrated young anime director and animator who is struggling to create her second series. After she supposedly passes away from food poisoning, she's isekai'd to the world of her favorite movie: A Tale of Perishing. Why Fans Love Her: Male characters have traditionally dominated the “talented but eccentric weirdo” genre, but in Winter 2025 fans of female oddballs are eating good. Natsuko is single minded, fiercely talented, and deeply confusing to the people around her. That's what makes her awesome.

    Mei Shijima - Toilet-bound Hanako-kun Season 2

Who Is She?: Mei Shijima is the 4th Supernatural at Kamome Gakuen. She was created to resemble a former student with the same name who passed away from a terminal illness. Why Fans Love Her: Mei Shijima is a complex character with a compelling tragic backstory. Her actions drive a large part of the plot in Season 2. Figuring out what's going on with her is a satisfying process. Also, she looks like an adorable little nerd girl. Who doesn't like that?

    Inori Yuitsuka - Medalist

Who Is She?: Inori is an 11-year-old figure skater who is just starting her career. Up until she found skating, she had no particular standout skills, but now she's determined to do whatever it takes to succeed. Why Fans Love Her: It's always exciting to see someone try their hardest at something they love, but it's even more so when they start off at a disadvantage. Though she's still a little girl, she's much older than most skaters are when they first start out. That means it will be harder for her to develop the necessary skills - but she's devoted enough to keep trying no matter what. Also, her obsession with earthworms is adorably quirky.
