The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

If the only video game genre you played for the rest of your life was RPGs, the Xbox Series X could probably give you a lifetime of content with all the great games that are available. From 2020-2024 alone we've gotten Baldur's Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Starfield, and most recently Metaphor: ReFantazio, all of which are fantastic Xbox RPGs that collectively can provide thousands of hours of gameplay. However, this list will rank them against the rest of the best Series X RPGs using your votes - the games were curated using review scores, sales, and feedback from hardcore gamers, but the ranking is determined by the wisdom of the crowd. Think of it as the Xbox community's ranking of the best RPGs on Xbox Series X! Since RPG can mean so many things, here's a breakdown of the various subgenres you'll find represented on this list: Xbox Series X ARPGs: Focuses on real-time combat and often includes fast-paced gameplay. Examples include Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3. Xbox Series X Turn-Based RPGs: Features combat where players and enemies take turns making moves, allowing for strategic planning. Examples include Sea of Stars and Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Xbox Series X Tactical RPGs: Combines elements of RPGs with strategy games, where battles take place on grid-based maps. Editor Note: While Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (2024) is an amazing DLC that feels like it's own standalone game, it's not being featured as its own entry on the list for the sake of simplicity.

Editor's Note: This is for the “Definitive Edition.”
