What could possibly make gaming better? Celebrity video games! There are many stars with their own video games; however, the results vary. Some of the efforts managed to maximize the star power and offer a fun and engaging experience for players. While there are others that hold about as much charm as a pair of manure earrings. Considering the plethora of video games released on a yearly basis, there's also the chance that many of these titles have gone under the radar - or have been overshadowed by other releases at the time. So let's hop into the time machine and check out a host of celebrity video games and how they ultimately panned out in the end.

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand

Released: 2009 Platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 Genre: Third-person shooter 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand wasn't Fiddy's first venture into the video game world, as it's the sequel to 2005's 50 Cent: Bulletproof. Yet, it received a lot more praise as a fun shoot-'em-up with pals, with IGN even calling it “a lot more fun than anyone had any right to expect.” Unfortunately, it wasn't released at the height of 50 Cent's popularity in the mid-2000s, so it sold only 1/12th of the copies of its predecessor. Poor Fiddy couldn't even laugh all the way to the candy shop here - never mind the bank.

    Jet Li: Rise to Honor

Released: 2004 Platform: PlayStation 2 Genre: Beat-'em-up Jet Li is one of the greatest martial arts actors on the planet - and he was particularly hot in the early 2000s. Jet Li: Rise to Honor is the perfect tribute to the star, as it makes Li the star of his own video game that feels like it could have been a movie. More importantly, the fighting moves and choreography for the title were all overseen by legendary stunt coordinator Corey Yeun. Simply put: Jet Li: Rise to Honor is the quintessential experience for action fans and is deemed a PlayStation 2 classic.

    Donald Trump's Real Estate Tycoon

Released: 2002 Platform: PC Genre: Business sim The sole purpose of this game was to beat Donald Trump. It wasn't in a round of Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, though, as the battle took place in the real estate market. While Donald Trump's Real Estate Tycoon tried to position itself as a video game version of Monopoly where Trump is the big cheese that needs to be toppled, its fun factor was more like the equivalent of licking the board, and it lacked the charisma of Sim City. Not even Trump's D-list star power at the time could inspire gamers to show up for boardroom negotiations here.

Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon

Released: 2002 Platform: Xbox Genre: Beat-'em-up Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon promised gamers the opportunity to be Bruce Lee in an all-action video game. Considering how Lee was (and is still) regarded as one of the world's most influential martial artists, the anticipation was high and players counted down the days for its release. Unfortunately, it swept its own leg upon arrival, with GameSpot calling it "a mess. The loading times are horrible, the fighting system is boring and poorly executed, the controls are sluggish, and the graphics are mediocre at best."

    Buzz Aldrin's Race Into Space

Released: 1993 Platform: PC Genre: Strategy By 1993, astronaut Buzz Aldrin and Apollo 11's feats were part of American history. One wouldn't call him a notable A-lister who paraded around on the red carpet, but he was a recognizable figure among the US public. Buzz Aldrin's Race Into Space wasn't exactly the StarCraft of strategy sims, but it received praise for consulting the experts, including Aldrin, to recreate an accurate space experience. That said, the difficulty level was a little tough for younger gamers.

    Michael Jackson's Moonwalker

Released: 1990 Platforms: Arcade, SEGA Genesis, SEGA Master System Genre: Platformer Moonwalker was an experimental anthology film for the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Then, a video game arrived where the player would take control of MJ as he uses his magical powers and entrancing dance moves to take down Mr. Big and his goons. There was also a stage where MJ would turn into a giant robot. Oh, and Bubbles - MJ's real-life chimpanzee - would help the hero search for kidnapped children, too. While it might sound like a lot, the video game was incredibly popular and appealed to both the fans and non-admirers of MJ. Michael Jackson's Moonwalker also makes a case for being the best celebrity video game of all time, as GameSpot calls it one of the G.O.A.T.s.

    Elvira: Mistress of the Dark

Released: 1990 Platforms: Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64, MS-DOS Genre: RPG adventure At the time of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark's release, Elvira was a beloved figure in the horror community and riding high after the 1988 film of the same name. The game acted as a continuation of the movie, but players didn't get the chance to play as Elvira here. Instead, she needed to be rescued by the player's character in this spooky point-and-click storyline. Despite the absence of Elvira as a playable character, the game received positive reviews, with Computer Gaming World favorably comparing it to Dungeon Master.

    Hulk Hogan's Main Event

Released: 2011 Platform: Xbox 360 Kinect Genre: Sports Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania wants to run wild in the living room? While Hulk Hogan was no stranger to the video game world, having appeared in countless games, his starship title Hulk Hogan's Main Event felt more like a Fingerpoke of Doom than a championship-winning leg drop. The intentions were good, as it tried to combine the Kinect technology with a physical sport like rasslin', but neither Hogan's waning powers or the confusing motion mechanics could save this messy, unresponsive game from tapping out.

    Kanye Quest 3030

Released: 2013 Platform: PC Genre: RPG Look, Kanye does (and says) odd things at the best of times. So it shouldn't be too surprising that a developer embraced his eccentricity and wackiness to create a sci-fi game around Kanye and various hip-hop figures and call it Kanye Quest 3030. It was an unauthorized game and there have been several rumors that it's a subliminal way to recruit cult members. But, hey, it's basically Pokémon with rappers, so many people have risked it all in the name of playing this game that needs to be seen to be believed.

    PewDiePie: Legend of the Brofist

Released: 2015 Platforms: Mobile, PC Genre: Adventure platformer PewDiePie is an immensely popular and controversial YouTube personality. As an avid gamer, one of his dreams was to have his own video game, which happened with the release of the 8-biterrific PewDiePie: Legend of the Brofist. Much like the person it's based on, the game boasts an eccentric sense of humor and is jam-packed with pop-culture references. It proved to be a hit on the critical and financial front, too, making around $100,000 on its release date.
